The Journey
I started writing code professionally in 2009, back when PHP 5 was cutting edge and MySQL was the only database most developers knew. Since then, most of my work has been on systems that organizations depend on daily: enterprise resource planning, public-sector governance platforms, and the integrations that hold them together. Software people are obliged to use, not software they can close and forget.
That kind of work has taken me through most layers of the stack — from tuning database queries that were quietly costing hours a week, to designing API contracts that other teams had to build against for years. It also taught me the part nobody puts on a landing page: the interesting problems show up long after launch, when the data has grown and the original assumptions no longer hold.
I set up Eternia Solutions as a one-person practice on purpose. Businesses deserve a technical partner who understands both the code and the consequences, and who is still around to answer for both. Every technical decision I make is rooted in what your business actually needs, because I'm the one who will have to live with it.
What Drives Me
I'm energized by complex problems. The kind where the obvious solution won't work at scale. Where you need to understand the nuances of database indexing strategies, network topology, caching layers, and application architecture to find the right answer.
Over the years, I've specialized in backend systems and API development because that's where the hard engineering lives. Frontend frameworks come and go, but building a data model that won't fall over as the business changes? Designing an API that other developers will actually enjoy using? Creating an architecture that makes the next ten features easier instead of harder? That takes years of doing it wrong first — and that experience is what I bring to a project.
How I Work
When you work with Eternia Solutions, you're working directly with me — that is the whole company. No account managers, no project coordinators, no layers between your problem and the person solving it. I take a limited number of clients at a time so each one gets real attention, and I say no when a project needs more hands than I have.
I ask a lot of questions. I push back when I think there's a better approach. I care more about building the right thing than building fast—though experience has taught me how to do both. And I communicate in plain language, not technical jargon designed to obscure rather than clarify.
